Assistance of Rs.10,000 per FC per annum is provided for a period of 3 years towards meeting maintenance expenses, various trainings and capacity building programmes organised by the FC as per the calendar of activities charted. Further FC promoting NGOs are eligible for an incentive of Rs. 3000/- in respect of hilly and distressed districts and Rs. 2000 in other districts, per annum for a period of 3 years.
With a view to keep the clubs active, self-sustainability of FCs is sought to be achieved over 3-5 years period through sustained efforts on capacity building, awareness and training under farm and allied sectors and empowering the FC members on the activities of the clubs’. This would enable the FCs to cater to the needs of the farming community in the operational areas of the clubs.
Under the new approach, the emphasis is on ensuring functional excellence and attain sustainability of the FCs launched across the country. It is assured through providing financial support to the members of FCs, by providing SMS based information services relating to crop specific advisory, market prices, and weather based information on their mobile phones.
